About ExemplarHistoryExemplar Performance Advantage is the brainchild of leading business and management consultant, Con Livissianis. In 1999 Exemplar started developing their revolutionary Skills Index concept to make recruitment and evaluation of financial staff easier and faster. Initially, Exemplar concentrated on developing skills tests for the key members of a company’s financial team. Each position was analysed to identify the key “risk” areas along with the capabilities required for success in each role. Tests were devised for numeracy skills, core competencies such as the ability to perform a bank reconciliation or cash flow analysis and communications skills such as comprehension and spelling. Thousands of hours were then spent developing a questionnaire that gave an accurate indication of an applicant’s skill levels. Each Skills Index was extensively tested, reviewed and modified before translation into over 130 questions per test via their on-line questionnaire. (The capability testing section has up to 69 questions depending on the skill level, the numerical testing section has up to 34 questions depending on the skill level and the comprehension testing has 30 questions). In 2002 it became evident that there was potential to develop a skills test For directors. It was predicted that corporate crashes such as Enron and WorldComm would have a ripple effect throughout the international corporate community. From 2002 Australia had its own taste of corporate disasters with HIH, Onetel and Pan Pharmaceuticals putting corporate governance on the agenda. In March 2003, ASX Good Corporate Governance Guidelines were released and Exemplar responded to market interest with a Skills Index for Directors. The Exemplar suite of services was launched on April the 15th 2004. Industry ExperienceExemplar Performance Advantage has consulted in the following industries:
